General health questionnaires and dermatology‐specific quality of life scales may have some questions about sexual life, but they do not specifically evaluate sexual problems. Because female and male sexual functions are physiologically different entities, gender‐specific sexual function scales, such as FSFI and International Index of Erectile Function Questionnaire (IIEF) are preferred (Ermertcan, 2009). It was usually contracted by the patient from the vaccination of themselves or their close relatives. This condition had a high mortality rate (up to 25%). In the current climate of threats of bioterrorism, vaccination may once again become necessary, and physicians should be aware of eczema vaccinatum in this setting. MANAGING AD Oregon Chronic urticaria—for members Abstract Amazon Currency Converter Based on the prospective study of 149 patients with neurodermatitis, it is obvious that neurodermaitits had a moderate influence on QoL of patients. QoL of most of (32.9%) our patients were moderate affected. The mean DLQI score in our study was 9.34, which was lower than previous report. Ermertcan AT found that DLQI score for patients in Turkey was 11.951. It can be explained by the limitation of patient selection. Patients included in the previous study were female only. In studies evaluating patients with chronic conditions, women consistently report poorer QoL than men7. Women were reported more pain8, more physical and psychological impairments9. Moreover, cases enrolled in the previous study were 43. When QoL affected by a specific entity was discussed, enough sample size will be more representative. Though a lot more has been learned about immunopathogenesis of AD, recognition of itching and scratching as hallmarks of this disease remains true. Itching is often worse at night. Chronic sleep disturbance due to frequent scratching can have adverse effects on the patient and his/her immediate family members and is a source of significant stress. When subjects with AD get upset, they tend to itch even more, probably secondary to flushing of the skin due to vasodilatation induced by neurogenic peptides, followed by histamine and prostaglandin E2 (Ostlere, Cowen et al. 1995). Papules, lichenification, and eczematous lesions result from repeated skin trauma. Vesicles and erythema with excoriation of the skin are seen in acute eczema. Crusted lesions and pustules are seen in infected eczema. Allergens, irritants (wool, soap, detergents, heat and humidity with sweating), infections, and certain foods can worsen eczema, and such history helps establish the right diagnosis. Distribution of rash on the face and extensor surfaces in infants and young children, changing to mostly flexural involvement in older ages, is a classic finding of AD and one of the essential features required to make this diagnosis. Dry skin (xerosis), personal and family history of allergic diseases, palmar hyperlinearity, nipple eczema, kera-tosis pilaris, pityriasis alba, and non-specific hand or foot dermatitis are some of the other clinical manifestations of this condition (Leung and Bieber 2003; Leung, Jain et al. 2003). The impact of AD on self-esteem and social interactions of kids or adults with this condition cannot be underestimated (Lapidus and Kerr 2001).
