Evidence for a disease-promoting effect of Staphylococcus aureus-derived exotoxins in atopic dermatitis. Put an End to Nail Fungus
AGB One study has investigated QoL of patients with neurodermatitis, indicating that the disease had a very large impact on patients' QoL1. However, given the small samples, female patients solely included within the study and different culture background, results may be imprecise. The aims of this study were to achieve a description of health status in a large sample of patients with neurodermatitis in China, assess disease impact on QoL. Patients with psoriasis were selected as control.

Leadership Keratosis pilaris Initiate a harmful itch-scratch cycle Correction Policy < Previous Article 3 star3 star (0%) In addition to the role of T and B cells in AD, other innate immune cells have also been implicated in the pathogenesis of AD, including eosinophils and mast cells. [10, 11] More recently, basophils and newly identified innate immune cells called group 2 innate lymphoid cells (ILC2s) have been shown to underlie the pathogenesis of AD. [12, 13, 14, 15, 16] Together, basophils and ILC2s are critical sources of the type 2 cytokines IL-4, IL-5, and IL-13. [12, 13] Further, these cells appear to be potently regulated by a family of epithelial cell‒derived cytokines directly released from damaged keratinocytes, including thymic stromal lymphopoietin (TSLP), IL-25, and IL-33. Taken together, these studies highlight a new paradigm in which, in addition to classical adaptive Th2 cells, innate type 2 immune cells play critical roles in the etiology of AD through interactions with epidermal-derived cytokines.
Topics & Tools Neurodermatitis is complicated by recurrent bacterial, viral and fungal infections, especially in those patients, who use hormonal ointments for a long time. Bacterial complications are represented by folliculitis, furunculosis, impetigo, and hydradenitis. The causative agent of these complications is usually Staphylococcus aureus, less epidermal one, white staphylococci or streptococci, the source of which are centers of chronic infection. The development of complications is accompanied by chill, increase of body temperature, sweating, increased congestion and itching. Peripheral lymph nodes are enlarged, painless.
