According to modern concepts, neurodermatitis is the genetically determined disease with multifactorial inheritance of predisposition to allergic reactions. Importance of genetic factors is confirmed by a high rate of disease among close relatives and monozygotic twins. According to an immunogenetic study, neurodermatitis is significantly associated with HLA B-12 and DR4. Skin Disease Map Annunziato F Clothing Souq.com Mona Malakouti, Gabrielle E. Jiang Can and Bai Ji Li are able not only to expel external Wind, but also to extinguish internal Wind, the Liver-Wind. They are more suitable for use when the patient has Liver-Yin and Blood deficiency, and disturbance of the Liver-Wind, such as seen in pruritus in elderly people, skin diseases starting or worsening in stressful situations, itchy rashes in the evening, in the night or after menstruation, and chronic skin diseases. Since external Wind and internal Wind often coexist—for instance, the itch may not only be worse in the above conditions, but also when the weather changes, after taking spicy food or during cold infections—therefore substances that expel external Wind and those that extinguish internal Wind can be used together. Previous reports have suggested higher rates of AD in areas with so-called hard water and among children born in fall or winter. This study looked for a possible synergistic relationship between these two AD risk factors. The researchers analyzed data on nearly 53,000 children from the Danish National Birth Cohort. National data sources were used to gather birth data and information on domestic water hardness, which differs across Danish regions. Physician diagnosis of AD and other characteristics were assessed in parental interviews when the children were 6 and 18 months old. Overall prevalence of AD was 15.0%. Prevalence ranged from 13.5% to 17.1% in regions with the softest versus hardest domestic water; relative prevalence of AD increased by 5% per 5-degree increase in water hardness. Hard water accounted for an estimated 2% of the population risk of AD. Relative prevalence of AD was 24% higher for children born in fall and 18% higher for those born in winter. There was no evidence of interaction between season of birth and water hardness. Both hard domestic water and fall/winter birth are associated with a higher prevalence of AD in early childhood. Risk of AD increases along with degree of water hardness, but there is no synergistic interaction between these two risk factors. Further studies are needed to see if water softening can reduce AD risk in infants. Induction of atopic dermatitis by inhalation of house dust mite. Moreover, sexual dysfunction may also cause significant personal distress and negatively impact quality of life (Thaipisuttikul, 1998; Abeck, 2005; Chuh et al, 2006; Burgin, 2008). In our study, we used the DLQI to evaluate the quality of life of patients. The mean DLQI score of 11.95 is similar to the mean scores of 11.20 and 10.53 reported for atopic dermatitis and psoriasis, respectively (Basra et al, 2008). The scores on question 9 of the DLQI showed that neurodermatitis affected sexual function in our patients. Consistent with this observation, previous studies have revealed a higher prevalence of sexual dysfunction in patients with chronic pain (Monga et al, 1998; Ambler et al, 2001). Sexual dysfunction in female patients with fibromyalgia has been demonstrated (Tikiz et al, 2005), and sexual status and erectile dysfunction in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease have been suggested (Koseoglu et al, 2005). Sexual dysfunction studies on other systemic diseases, such as diabetes mellitus, chronic liver disease, allergic rhinoconjunctivitis, epilepsy, chronic renal failure, and multiple sclerosis have also been performed (Ermertcan, 2009). Webinars The excess of atopic eczema in East Germany is related to the intrinsic type. Emotional support Olsen JV Neurodermatitis or lichen simplex chronicus is an often symptomatic skin condition, and patients with neurodermatitis may have clinical symptoms such as itching, burning, or stinging. Neurodermatitis may also have negative effects on the patient's quality of life and sexual life because it affects self‐perception and social relationships of the patients. We propose that a biopsychosocial approach to management is very important in patients with neurodermatitis and that they should be also assessed with regard to sexual function to provide a better quality of life.
