Grasses, the main triggers of hay fever Neill and Ridley (2001) reported that anogenital lichen sclerosus may commonly cause sexual dysfunction. Other vulvar dermatoses such as psoriasis, seborrheic dermatitis, squamous cell hyperplasia, lichen simplex chronicus, contact dermatitis, and erosive lichen planus can result in vulvodynia, dyspareunia, and sexual dysfunction (Davis and Hutchison, 1999; Burrows et al, 2008). Because anogenital skin lesions may result in difficulties in sexual function, we did not include patients with anogenital neurodermatitis in our study. Oh, it’s even worse there. QoL of most of (32.9%) our patients were moderate affected. The mean DLQI score in our study was 9.34, which was lower than previous report. Ermertcan AT found that DLQI score for patients in Turkey was 11.951. It can be explained by the limitation of patient selection. Patients included in the previous study were female only. In studies evaluating patients with chronic conditions, women consistently report poorer QoL than men7. Women were reported more pain8, more physical and psychological impairments9. Moreover, cases enrolled in the previous study were 43. When QoL affected by a specific entity was discussed, enough sample size will be more representative. Heavy moisturizers may also help protect the area from rubbing and scratching. Questions 1 (symptoms) and domain 1(symptoms and feelings) had the most impact on patients with neurodermatitis, which indicate that controlling of itching will improve QoL impressively. Nevertheless, the ”itch-scratch” cycle is extremely difficult to stop. Tropical aspecific antipruritic agents are not very helpful. Topical tacrolimus, glucocorticoid creams, ultraviolet-based therapy, oral cyclosporine, thalidomide, glucocorticoid and transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation can be effective in the treatment of neurodermatitis, however all these management are hard to prevent recurrence13,14. In recent years, researchers pay more attention to modify patients' nonadaptive behaviors. Cognitive-behavioral therapies have given good results15. Patients with neurodermatitis scored significantly lower for all items except Q1 (symptoms) and Q9 (sexual difficulties). No strong relationship between disease-related characteristics and quality of life could be found. This inter correlation is expressed by Cronbach's alpha. The minimum requirement for an instrument to be internally consistent is a value of 0.7016. Several other investigators have assessed the internal reliability of the DLQI, and have demonstrated Cronbach's Alpha scores of between 0.75 and 0.9217. Among patients with neurodermatitis, Cronbach's alpha was 0.889, indicating high internal reliability. According to question 9 of the DLQI, sexual function was affected in our patients with neurodermatitis. When we looked at the total and individual scores from the FSFI, the total score was significantly decreased in female patients with neurodermatitis compared with that in controls. Analyses of each domain showed that scores for desire, arousal, lubrication, orgasm, and satisfaction were significantly decreased in these patients. The pain score was also lower in the patient group than in the control group, although the difference was not statistically significant. As observed in Niemeier et al (1997) and Mercan et al (2008), we conclude that neurodermatitis often results in sexual dysfunction. We also conclude that neurodermatitis has effects particularly on the desire, arousal, lubrication, orgasm, and satisfaction components of sexual function in female patients. America’s Healthiest Can Dogs Have Allergies?  Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a pruritic disease of unknown origin that usually starts in early infancy (an adult-onset variant is recognized); it is characterized by pruritus, eczematous lesions, xerosis (dry skin), and lichenification (thickening of the skin and an increase in skin markings).
