The Lancet Oncology Chief Editor Allergist One of the most serious complications, which can accompany neurodermatitis, is Kaposi’s varicelliform eruption, due to which lethality ranges from 1.6 to 30% among children. The causative agent is the herpes simplex virus, especially of type 1, which causes damage to the upper respiratory tract and skin around the nose and mouth. Virus of the type 2 is less common, it affects mucous membranes and skin of genital organs. The disease begins acutely in 5-7 days after the contact with an ill person with herpes simplex and is manifested by chills, body temperature up to 40°C, weakness, adynamics, prostration. After 1-3 days rashes of small, to the size of a pinhead, bubbles, filled with serous, less commonly with hemorrhagic content appear. Later bubbles turn into pustules and acquire a typical appearance from navel like impression in the center. In the evolution of the elements bleeding erosions are formed, their surface is covered with hemorrhagic crusts. Patient’s face acquires “mask-like” appearance. The lesion of mucous membranes proceeds as aphthous stomatitis, conjunctivitis, and keratoconjunctivitis.

Age, education, occupation, number of children, contraceptive methods, disease duration, and dermatologic examination findings were recorded. All lesions in the patients were localized on their backs, where neurodermatitis lesions are commonly seen. We wanted to eliminate the localization factor from sexual function and evaluate the impacts of this skin disease alone on sexual function. Therefore, patients with anogenital localization were excluded from this study. Routine blood count, biochemistry, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, and urinalysis were performed for each participant. The functional integrity of the hypothalamo‐pituitary‐gonadal axis was examined in all participants by measuring the levels of follicle‐stimulating hormone, luteinizing hormone, estradiol, free testosterone, prolactin, and sex hormone–binding globulin. Participants suffering from pulmonary, hepatic, hematologic, renal, and endocrine diseases such as diabetes mellitus, as well as thyroid function disorders and inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, were excluded from the study. Other exclusion criteria included pregnancy and gynecologic and systemic disorders that might affect female sexual function such as hormonal, muscular, neurologic, or cardiovascular diseases and psychologic disorders. Participants on antidepressants and other drugs that are known to interfere with sexual function and postmenopausal women receiving oral or vaginal estrogen therapy for the prevention of climacteric symptoms or vaginal dryness were also excluded from the study.

Furthermore, it should be emphasized that it must not be treated by waiting ("it would pass with age") and mask (a prescription of only antihistamines and hormonal ointments) treatments. With the right treatment plan, seasonal allergies can be managed for better quality of life.”
Coexistence of sexual dysfunction, especially female sexual dysfunction, with different diseases has gained interest in recent years (Cayan et al, 2004; Laumann et al, 2005; Bachmann, 2006; Hayes et al, 2006; Segraves and Woodard, 2006). Numerous studies have been performed in other disciplines of medicine about sexual dysfunction (Monga et al, 1998; Ambler et al, 2001; Koseoglu et al, 2005; Tikiz et al, 2005).

To start with we have this shower oil, which is much gentler than the usual supermarket products. And we have this oil and water emulsion which should be applied mornings and evenings. It might also be good to have a small tube of hand-cream in your handbag and to use it after hand-washing. This one contains 10% urea and is not perfumed, which, by the way, is very important when buying skincare products.

In AD, transepidermal water loss is increased. Whether the primary immune dysregulation causes secondary epithelial barrier breakdown or primary epithelial barrier breakdown causes secondary immune dysregulation that results in disease remains unknown. However, given the fact that filaggrin is critical for epithelial integrity, it is now thought that loss of filaggrin function leads to increased transepidermal penetration of environmental allergens, increasing inflammation and sensitivity and potentially leading to the atopic march. 11. The differences between groups were evaluated according to Fisher’s exact test for comparing proportions. The Mann-Whitney U-test was used to test the equality of distributions of quantitative outcomes. Multiple logistic regression was performed to examine the independent effects of explanatory variables on DLQI scores. Construct validity was tested by factor analysis. Reliability was assessed by average inter-item correlation, item-total correlation and Cronbach’s alpha. All analyses were done using SPSS software (version 13.0; SPSS Inc., Chicago, IL, USA). P <0.05 was interpreted as statistically significant. Adjustments for p-Values were made.

In the presence of pronounced infiltration and lichenification warty hyperpigmented foci arise. At the beginning neurodermatitis is usually associated with psychic emotional or neuroendocrine disorders. Patients are concerned with intense itching.
